Leisure vehicles fitted with HAL-Locate are monitored 24 hours a day 365 days a year by a secure operating centre. Once flagged as having moved without authorisation by the owner of the vehicle, the HAL-Locate unit will automatically contact the control centre who will start tracking the vehicle. Once verification of the theft is confirmed by the owner, the control centre will proceed to track the vehicle, liaising with the police to ensure that the vehicle is retrieved and returned to the owner.
There are approximately 1.5 million crimes committed each year against private vehicles and 200,000 crimes each year against commercial vehicles. The HAL-Locate Control Centre enables drivers and owners to contact the police when a crime is committed against them, anywhere in Europe.

The HAL-Locate Control Centre service works through a network of National Service Providers that have police accreditation in each country. They use the technology of the service and its standard procedures for incidents. A key feature of the Control Centre is that it enables the HAL-Locate GPS Tracking System to transmit positioning data into the network, which is then relayed to the police in the country of incident. This allows police to view the vehicle position in real-time during the emergency.

Your HAL-Locate tracker, when armed and moved through the outer geo-fence distance, will alert the Control Centre to a potential theft situation and they will track your vehicle. All that’s needed from you is confirmation of a genuine theft and a crime reference number. The Control Centre will then liaise with the police to track, locate and retrieve your vehicle. In most cases this will mean that the vehicle will be retrieved and returned to you before anyone has physically entered your vehicle.
