How HAL-Locate Works

HAL-Locate is one of the most effective vehicle tracking systems available

HAL-Locate features a GPS positioning system. Basically this means that it picks up satellite transmissions and uses these to calculate its location anywhere on the planet. It's usually accurate to within a few meters, but accuracy can sometimes be affected by weather and atmospheric conditions albeit rarely to an extent that this will cause a problem.

If your vehicle is moved without your consent, HAL-Locate will automatically contact you and a police approved control centre via mobile phone SMS text. If it is confirmed that your caravan or motorhome has been stolen, the control centre will track its movements and provide its location to the police, ensuring a priority response.

HAL-Locate is covert and cannot easily be disarmed by thieves. If your vehicle is stolen, HAL-Locate remains active, continuously reporting vehicle location, speed and heading.

Advanced Technology, Simple Operation

HAL-Locate features advanced antenna technology and a supersensitive GPS receiver to create the most effective vehicle location system available. Very easy to use, HAL-Locate can be armed or disarmed via your mobile phone. Additionally, the location of your vehicle and the charge state of your leisure battery can be checked at any time, again by using simple mobile phone texting.

HAL-Locate is the only system of its type designed specifically for caravans and motorhomes and is both Thatcham and Sold Secure approved. Being extremely compact, it can easily be installed by the vehicle manufacturer, or after sale by a suitably trained and approved dealer.

Control Centre Support

HAL-Locate is supported by a police approved control centre. In the event of theft, HAL-Locate is triggered to send messages to the control centre, who will monitor the location of your vehicle and liaise with local police services to ensure a priority response.

International Coverage

HAL-Locate is supported in over 40 countries including the whole of Europe by an accredited Control Centre. The Control Centre service ensures that the level of police response is exactly the same whether you are in the UK or abroad.

Reduced Insurance Premiums

By fitting HAL-Locate to your caravan or motorhome you may be able to take advantage of a special discount on your annual insurance premium.

Leisure Battery Life

HAL-Locate operates from your vehicle’s leisure battery, but uses very little power. It will operate for over 6 months on a typical 85Ah fully charged battery. If the vehicle leisure battery becomes discharged or is disconnected, HAL-Locate will switch to its rechargeable backup battery and will even send a text to your mobile phone to let you know!

Important  Notes

Mobile phone: The operation of HAL-Locate requires the use of a charged mobile phone with SMS text capability (not supplied).

Battery: To ensure effective operation of the HAL1000 unit, it is recommended that the caravan or motorhome leisure battery be maintained in a good state of charge and connected to the unit at all times.

Signal: The HAL1000 unit contains a mobile phone SIM card for sending texts. As with any GSM mobile device, there may be occasions when either your personal mobile phone or your HAL1000 system cannot obtain an adequate GSM signal strength to send or receive texts.

Charges: Annual subscription charges are applicable for the control centre services and communications costs and are subject to a fair use policy. Refer to the terms and conditions for full details.
